Your new driver’s license is in the mail? Beginning next week, DMV offices will stop making driver's licenses at each office. Instead, all licenses will be made at one location in Raleigh and mailed to you. Taking the written and driving tests and having your picture taken is the same. Then, you'll be handed a temporary paper document until the official license arrives by mail from Raleigh. DMV officials estimate the wait for the official license to be between five and 20 days. North Carolina is one of 14 states that have recently switched to a more secure license distribution system. http://www.myfox8.com/news/wghp-dmv-license-changeover-090819,0,5800602.story
