Umbrella alert…Expect Rain…and lots of it.
The Triad will receive 3 to 5 inches of rain from ‘Ernesto’ over the next 2 days. Central NC including the Triad is under a Flash Flood Watch through Friday morning. Since the Triad has been so dry… Flash Flooding will also be a problem… with large amounts of rain expected.

Ernesto is now back to Tropical Storm status. The center of Tropical Storm Ernesto is off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida…with winds near 50mph.

In the eastern Pacific, Hurricane John is a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane with top sustained winds of 125 mph. Parts of Mexico now under storm warnings.

A 19 year old man questioned in a shooting spree at Orange County High School has been charged with fatally wounding his father. Alvaro Castillo of Hillsborough responded to reporters: "Columbine. Remember Columbine." After firing shots at his old High School. Two students suffered minor injuries yesterday. (WS Jounrnal/WFMY)

The Memorial Service for Dr Mark Corts will be Saturday morning at 10am at Calvary Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Forsyth Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
-Dr Mark Corts, former senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday evening. He was 68.
- On Friday, The worship center at Calvary Baptist Church will be open to family and friends for a viewing from 9am to 7 pm.

Virtual ‘Pink Slips’: Hundreds of RadioShack employees learned that they had lost their jobs…by e-mail. Workers at the company's headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, were quickly out of a job. They had 30 minutes to say good-bye to friends and gather their belongings.
RadioShack cut some 400 jobs. A spokeswoman defends the e-mails, saying workers had been told during meetings that the downsizing was enevable. (AP)

Good news for travelers: Gasoline prices should keep falling.
One analyst saying that gas prices should be closer to $2 than $3 come Thanksgiving. Triple A saying that gas prices will likely drop 10 cents a gallon after Labor Day. The nationwide average for gas is around $2.84.
