Oil prices are on the rise following the announcement of a pipeline shutdown at a large oil field in Alaska and the continuing violence in the Mideast. Oil giant BP began shutting down oil production on Sunday at Prudhoe Bay due to severe corrosion and a small spill from a transit line. The shutdown will result in a reduction of about 8% of the U.S. oil production. You could see a slight increase at the pump. (AP)

Could the Chevy Camaro be making a come-back? The Detroit Free Press reporting that General Motors is expected to announce the return of the muscle car as a production vehicle this week. Production of the new Camero could be built as early as 2008. The 2002 model year was the last for the Camaro, which had hit the roads in 1967. (The Detroit Free Press)

The Bush administration is pushing for quick approval of the latest UN cease-fire resolution. The fighting continues between Israel-and-Hazbollah.

Duke University researchers said surgeries done in the morning hours may help prevent unexpected health problems related to anesthesia. In the study, patients whose surgeries began in the late afternoon were about four times more likely to request pain medication and encountered more nausea and vomiting than those whose surgeries started in the morning.

North Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting its Operation Summer Heat this week through Sunday in the Triad. The Goal of Operation Summer Heat is to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities by increasing DWI patrols in counties with the highest number of alcohol-related collisions.
