Saturday 'make up' day for students in Davidson County


The Davidson County Board of Education unanimously voted at a special 'called' meeting this morning to go ahead and have students make up Tuesday's 'power outage day' this Saturday (April 9th).  
The school day will operate as an early release day with elementary schools dismissing at noon.  Middle and High schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. Classes will start at the same time as a regular school day this Saturday.

School officials in a couple of counties including Rowan/Salisbury, Thomasville City and Davidson County decided to close schools on Tuesday after severe storms caused widespread power outages.

Also: Thomasville City Schools will also use Saturday as a 'make up' day and will be treated as an early release day.
-Liberty Drive Elementary and Thomasville Primary will release at 11:30 a.m.
-Thomasville Middle and Thomasville High will release at 12:30 p.m.
