Lots of storm damage reported...
As of 5am: Duke Energy is reporting over 200,000 customers in North and South Carolina without power due to storm damage overnight. Over 700 homes and businesses in Guilford County without power this morning.  Energy United reporting over 4,300 customers without power in Davidson County.

A mother and daughter are in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after their vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer yesterday around 2pm on Highway 68 near Oak Ridge. The big rig not only rear-ended a PT Cruiser driven by Allysson Queen (with her 18-year-old daughter Valerie inside), but the truck pushed the car down an embankment, overturned and landed on top of the PT Cruiser. Fox 8 reporting that Allysson’s husband and a ‘good Samaritan’ on the scene worked to get Allysson and Valerie out of the car. Crews finally reopened Highway 68 around 8 p.m. last night.

McDonald's to hire 50,000 workers - in one day. McDonald's is planning a one-day hiring spree of 50,000 new workers nationwide on April 19. The new job positions will include crew and management positions, part-time and full-time. She said the average pay for the jobs is $8.30 an hour.
