Researchers at Wake Forest University and Harvard University are reporting
the discovery of a new source of human stem cells that have the capability to develop into many different types of cells, including muscle, bone, fat, blood vessel, nerve and liver cells. These stem cells, found in amniotic fluid, could one day lead to a readily available supply of stem cells that don't come with the ethical problems surrounding embryonic stem cells. The research information can be found in the latest issue of Nature Bio-technology.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will keep an invocation at the start of its meeting.
Chairwoman Gloria Whisenhunt said that the board reached a consensus decision last Thursday not to change the unwritten procedures for invocations to start their meeting.
-In October, the ACLU of North Carolina sent a letter to Winston-Salem City Council and the Forsyth commissioners asking for changes in the way prayers are offered at the beginning of public meetings
-The next county commissioners' meeting will start at 7:30 this evening…with an invocation. Forsyth commissioners to stick with prayer policy
As if being a tween is not hard enough, scientists now call the years between 9 and 12 a time when girls are especially at risk of becoming overweight.
Poor dietary habits early in life take a toll on the Arteries even in the tween years. The study did not examine boys to know whether they face a similar risk.

A Canadian study recently compiled by Knox College and the University of Toronto revealed that members of the Clergy are struggling with identity and feelings of loneliness and exhaustion. Most feel like a CEO rather than a pastor. -Longtime NASCAR driver Bobby Hamilton, who won the 2001 Talladega 500 and was the 2004 Craftsman Truck Series champion, died Sunday after being diagnosed with head and neck cancer last February. Bobby Hamilton was 49.
-Benny Parsons was checked into the intensive care unit at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte over the weekend. Doctors are treating Parson’s for serious complications stemming his treatment for lung cancer last year.
