Most federal government offices and courts will be closed today
President Bush has designated today as a National Day of morning in honor of former President Ford. There will be no regular mail delivery or retail services at post offices.
Express Mail deliveries will be made today. (FOX 8)

A state funeral for former President Gerald Ford will be held at Washington National Cathedral later this morning. Ford will be buried tomorrow on a hillside near his presidential museum in Michigan. (USA Radio news)

Wet start to the New Year:
About 22 families had to be evacuated from an apartment complex on Bethania Station Road in Winston-Salem yesterday because of flooding. Over 3 inches of rain fell on the Triad as of noon Monday.
-The NWS has issued a flood warning for the Yadkin River at Yadkin College in Davidson County until noon.

Rescue teams today arrived at a site in central Indonesia where authorities believed a passenger jet crashed a day earlier, however it was unclear if the plane or any survivors had been found. A spokesman for Adam Air said 90 bodies and 12 survivors were found. But transport officials are saying that the crash site had not been found. (CNN)

Pilots continue to fly over parts of Colorado and Kansas to look for snowbound travelers following a blizzard that dumped nearly 3 feet of snow to parts of the Mid-West. Tens of thousands of homes and businesses are still without power. (USARADIO NEWS)

Sports:
Demon Deacon fans…tonight is the night: Wake Forest and Louisville meet tonight in the Orange Bowl in Miami. Kick off at 8:23pm. The game will be shown locally on Fox 8 WGHP.

Boise State completed a perfect season last night with a 43 - 42 overtime victory over Oklahoma last night in the Fiesta Bowl. After running into the end zone for the win, Tailback Ian Johnson ended the game, he asked his girlfriend, a Broncos’ cheerleader to marry him.
Ohio State will play No. 2 Florida for the BCS national championship on Jan. 8.
