More Winter weather for the mid-west:

Winds of more than 124 mph blew into Poland and the Czech Republic…
uprooting trees and tearing down power lines after leaving a trail of damage across northern Europe earlier yesterday. At least 27 fatalities associated with the wind storm. Germany and Britain faced further disruptions to rail and air travel on Friday after high winds left thousands of households without electricity.

Consumer Reports has retracted this month's blistering review of infant car seats, which stressed that most of the infant car seats "failed disastrously" in crash safety tests. The original report, published Jan. 4, said the magazine had tested the seats at speeds as low as 35 mph. But after further review by the government said that the tests "were conducted at collision speeds at closer to 70 mph. Consumer Reports will retest the seats and publish a new evaluation as soon as possible. http://www.healthday.com/Article.asp?AID=601109

NORMAN, Oklahoma
The pilot of a TV news helicopter used the wind from the aircraft's rotor to push a stranded deer to safety after it lost its footing on a frozen lake and could not get up. With the helicopter's camera rolling, KWTV pilot Mason Dunn used the wind from the rotor to push the deer sliding on its belly across the ice until it reached shore and scampered into a nearby wooded area. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/18/deer.ice.ap/index.html

Family sues radio station after woman diesThe family of a California woman who died after participating in a radio station's water-drinking contest will sue the station.Jennifer Strange, 28, a mother of three, died from suspected water intoxication after taking part in Friday\'s competition, \"Hold your wee for a Wii.\" 18 people tried to out-drink each other without going to the toilet to win a Nintendo Wii game console. Sacramento station KDND-FM responded by firing 10 staffers, including several DJs. The DJs had joked about people dying from water intoxication and teasing Strange about her enlarged stomach. Police are also investigating the death for possible criminal charges. Water intoxication can prove deadly and cause irregular heartbeat, fluid in the lungs and swelling of the brain. http://www.usaradio.com/news_details.php?catid=1&storyid=1019
