Thousands are still dealing with latest Winter Storm that brought ice, snow, flooding and high winds from Texas to Maine. Since the weekend, there have been 54 fatalities in nine states associated with the latest storm. Over 300,000 homes and businesses are still without power. Forecasters are calling for more freezing rain to hit parts of Texas tonight.
In California, three nights of freezing weather have destroyed up to three-quarters of the state's $1 billion dollar citrus crop.
Governor Schwarzenegger is asking for federal government

Baseball fever one step closer to downtown:
The Winston-Salem City Council voting unanimously last night to approve spending $29 million dollars over 25 years to help pay for a downtown ballpark.
-The Winston-Salem Journal reporting that the ballpark should open by 2009.

An overturned logging truck in Davidson County, blocked the northbound lanes on Highway 52 yesterday afternoon. Emergency officials say a logging truck tipped over near the Welcome Exit rupturing a fuel tank. Brushing and flossing could do more than give you a bright smile:Researchers have found that men who had periodontal disease have a 63% higher risk of developing pancreatic cancer than men with healthy teeth and gums. While the study does not definitively show that gum disease causes cancer, the researchers say the evidence is strong.
The report is published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

NASCAR legend Benny Parsons died Tuesday after a battle against lung cancer. He was 65. Doctors were treating Parson’s for serious complications stemming from his treatment for lung cancer last year. http://www.nascar.com/

The "Morning Rave" radio show on KDND 107.9 "The End" in Sacramento, California will be off the air indefinitely according to the station's general manager…after a Radio Contest in SACRAMENTO, California turned fatal. The Radio contest required drinking large amounts of water with getting rid of any water.
One of the contestants, a 28 year old mother of three was trying to win a new Wii video game console for her children.
Jennifer Strange, 28, was found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.
