Winter Storm WATCH for Thursday.
Central North Carolina will see snow, sleet and freezing rain
throughout the day on Thursday.

North Carolina placing first in the nation in the number of new National Board Certified Teachers for 2006. Last year, the national board certified nearly 7,800 teachers nationwide…over 1,500 of the certified teachers were from North Carolina. Sixteen teachers from Davidson County received certification in 2006.

One California lawmaker will introduce legislation next week…to ban conventional incandescent light bulbs.
The "How Many Legislators Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb Act" would ban incandescent lightbulbs by 2012 in favor of energy-saving compact fluorescent lightbulbs.
