Funeral arrangements have been finalized for two Salisbury firefighters who were killed in the line of duty last Friday. Justin Monroe (19) and Victor Isler (40) died Friday fighting a five-alarm fire at a Salisbury woodworking company. The firefighter’s bodies were taken to Charlotte for an autopsy.
Visitation for Victor Isler will be Wednesday from 1 to- 4pm at
Lyerly Funeral Home in Salisbury. Isler will be returned to New York for Burial.
Visitation for Justin Monroe will be Wednesday from 6 to 9pm at the Miller Ferry Volunteer Fire Department.

Inconsistent weather is causing some North Carolina ski resorts to close their slopes early. Hawksnest in Seven Devils will remain open for the next two weeks unless temperatures get really hot.

Actor / comedian Billy Crystal will ‘look marvelous’ in Yankee pinstripes on Thursday. Billy Crystal has signed a one day contract with the New York Yankees. Crystal will ‘work out’ with the Yankees at Legends Field on Wednesday and YES suit up during a Spring Training game against the Pirates on Thursday. Crystal, who turns 60 on Friday, will wear #60 on his uniform.
