National Weather Service has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the Foothills and Piedmont of North Carolina until Thursday morning.

Strong storms pushing through the country’s mid-section yesterday. Dozens of flights were cancelled at the Dallas-Fort Fort Airport. Winds were clocked at 100 miles per hour. Heavy rains caused widespread flooding in Missouri. Hundreds were forced from their homes.

In a case before the Supreme Court yesterday, the justices were considering whether the Second Amendment's right to bear arms applies to individuals or to states. Sources saying that the High Court is leaning toward ruling in favor of an individual’s right to own a gun. Black conservative leaders believe Senator Barack Obama did not go far enough in condemning the divisive sermons delivered by his longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright who shepherd’s Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. The Democratic presidential hopeful delivering a speech yesterday intended to repair damage his presidential campaign suffered by Pastor Wright's inflammatory rhetoric. Obama admits the sermons -- now circulating on the Internet and television -- "rightly offend white and black alike."
Barack Obama will make campaign stops in Charlotte and Fayetteville today.

An attack on a group of Christians in southern Ethiopia has claimed 4 lives. Envoy Ministries reports that hundreds of men armed with machetes and clubs attacked the worshippers without warning last week. Three Ethiopian church planters were among the fatalities. The NY Yankees played an exhibition game against the Hokies of Virginia Tech yesterday in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Yankees won 11-0…but the experience for both teams and the Hokie nation was priceless. Yankees owner George Steinbrenner donated $1 million dollars to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
