Early voting begins today around the state. Early voting lasts until November 1st. One-stop voting also allows those who missed the voter registration deadline to register and cast a ballot at the same time. Both campaigns are encouraging their supporters to vote early.

DOMESTIC POLICY WAS THE THEME OF THE THIRD AND FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE LAST NIGHT. Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain answered questions on different topics including: the economy, energy, education and possible appointees to the Supreme Court.

Wall Street gains from Monday went south by the end of the day on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 733 points…the second biggest point drop ever for the Dow. On Monday, the index enjoyed its largest ever point gain. The S-and-P 500 and the NASDAQ also suffered major losses yesterday.

Hurricane Omar strengthened into a Category 3 storm overnight. Lots of rain and wind expected over parts of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Omar should weaken over the next 24 hours. The Atlantic hurricane season continues through Nov. 30th.

NANCY REAGAN IS IN THE HOSPITAL RECOVERING FROM A BROKEN PELVIS. The 87-year old former first lady fell at her Los Angeles home last week, but did not go to the hospital until Monday.
