THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A HARD FREEZE WARNING FOR THE GULF COAST AND NORTHERN THROUGH CENTRAL FLORIDA. Frosted oranges and strawberries encased in ice: just some of the images coming out of Florida. Another sizable industry that has suffered more than any other because of this year’s unusually long cold snap — tropical fish. The little guys are dying by the millions. The freezing temperatures have come at the worst possible time. GAS PRICES ARE EDGING BACK UP. Triple A reports the average price of regular unleaded gas is above two dollars and 74 cents a gallon nationwide. A man and a young boy are in critical condition at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after they were hit by a truck while riding horses in Davidson County Sunday night. Authorities have not filed any charges yet, but the investigation is ongoing.

THE NEW JERSEY STATE SENATE HAS REJECTED A PROPOSAL TO ALLOW SAME GENDER COUPLES TO MARRY. Lawmakers voted 20 to 14 against the bill. Supporters say they will take the issue before the state supreme court.

The Congressional Black Caucus said Sunday that it had accepted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's apology for a remark he made about Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign. "THE JAY LENO SHOW" WILL BE PULLED FROM PRIME TIME WHEN THE NETWORK STARTS ITS COVERAGE OF THE WINTER OLYMPICS IN VANCOUVER, ON FEBRUARY 12th.
Leno has been offered his old eleven-35 p-m time slot back. "The Tonight Show" name will remain with the current host, Conan O'Brien…with a start time 30 minutes later at twelve oh five a-m. "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" would then start at one oh five.
