Recall / Warning: FDA seeks to shut down NJ cheese maker
Federal food safety officials want to shut down a New Jersey-based cheese producer, alleging the company has failed to correct unsanitary conditions and that recent inspections turned up cheeses contaminated with Listeria. The FDA filed a complaint Monday in U.S. District Court in Newark seeking a permanent injunction to stop production at Quesos Mi Pueblito in Passaic. The company produces various types of cheeses popular in Latin American cuisine.
Mi Pueblito sells cheeses in grocery stores and supermarkets along the East Coast including North Carolina. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm180618.htm

A 2005 graduate of Forsyth Country Day School died Sunday morning when his car plunged into a frozen creek near Washington, D.C. 22-year-old Joshua Kuhlman attended Forsyth Country Day School for eight years and was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a player on the soccer team. http://www.wxii12.com/news/22119049/detail.html

Officials in nine counties in the western mountains are asking for state and federal assistance to help pay for damages caused by two winter storms last month. The estimated damage from recent storms in Watauga county: $4 million dollars. www.journalnow.com

Casey Johnson, the young heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, has died. LA police were called to Johnson’s home yesterday morning…were she pronounced dead at the scene. There was no evidence of foul play. Johnson was the great-great granddaughter of the founder of the pharmaceutical giant, and the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson.
Casey Johnson was 30 years old.

A NEW STUDY FINDS THAT MARRIED PEOPLE ARE LESS LIKELY TO SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE. Researchers from the University of Otago in New Zealand, looking at 34 thousand people in 15 countries, also found that mental health disorders increase when a marriage ends through divorce, separation or death.

About 20% of employers plan to add new full-time hires in 20-10. According to a CareerBuilder survey, 61% of those surveyed will keep staffing levels just as they are in 20-10. The survey also showed that 11 percent of employers will probably add some part-time positions. THE SUICIDE BOMBER WHO KILLED SEVEN C-I-A OPERATIVES IN AFGHANISTAN LAST WEEK WAS A TRUSTED INFORMANT. The Jordanian informant lured intelligence officers into a trap by promising new information about Al-Qaeda's top leadership. The attack claimed the lives of seven Americans along with a Jordanian officer who had been assigned to work with him. Six C-I-A operatives were wounded.

The U-S Embassy in Yemen has reportedly re-opened. The U-S, British and French Embassies in Yemen were closed over the weekend due to threats by Al-Qaeda. SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON SAYS THE PROBLEMS IN YEMEN ARE A THREAT TO REGIONAL AND GLOBAL SECURITY.

Rachel Lampa returns to the Christian music scene. The Gospel Music Channel reports Lampa has been largely M.I.A. after parting ways with Word Records. Her new EP is titled "Human”.
