A public hearing regarding the proposal to bring Caterpillar to Forsyth County will be held tonight at 6pm at the Forsyth County Commissioners meeting room at the Governmental center on Chestnut Street. Forsyth County is offering Caterpillar a $10 million dollar incentive to come to our area. The city of WS is also offering millions in incentives.

Kernersville homeowners near Oak Hollow Road and West Mountain Street will likely be ‘vocal’ tonight during a meeting with the planning and zoning department. The reason: the potential new re-zoning ordinance that would allow a 17-and-a-half-acre proposed site to be used for a solid waste treatment plant. That's where trash will be brought from private companies or municipalities and be consolidated before it is brought to a landfill. It’s been 6 months since the deadly 7.0 earthquake hit the capital of Haiti. On January 12, 2010, more than 220,000 people were killed and more than 300,000 people were injured. The Sonic Drive-In on Highway 8 in Lexington was robbed just before 2am this morning. Police said the manager was leaving the restaurant when he was robbed by three suspects.
Just after 2am…A Lexington police officer was involved in a shooting near Virginia Drive and Spring Drive in Lexington. The suspect was taken to Baptist Medical Center and treated for "non-life threatening" injuries. Police did not say if the suspect involved in the shooting is related to the robbery at the Sonic. The officer was not injured in the shooting. (Fox8)
A 30-year-old Lexington man was accidentally killed early yesterday morning at High Rock Lake after falling from a pontoon boat. Witnesses told police that 30 year old Brandon Brogdon fell into the water beside a pier near the boat. His friends found him and tried to revive him.
