Delta Air Lines has reduced the price of hundreds of domestic and international destinations. The sale is on 21-day advance purchase, round-trip tickets. Delta says the tickets must be purchased no later than July 29, 2010, with all travel completed by Nov. 17, 2010. Sample, each-way sale fares include the following: Atlanta – $49; Memphis, Tenn. – $109; and Detroit – $99. Additional taxes, fees and baggage charges may apply.

The city of Winston-Salem will offer Caterpillar a $14.3 million dollar incentives package to help entice the company to build a manufacturing plant in eastern Forsyth County. The Winston-Salem City Council voting in favor of the incentives package last night. In an effort to help stop unwanted graffiti, the city council also approving an ordinance where minors will no longer be able to buy spray paint in the Winston-Salem city limits without a parent or guardian. Conservative radio and TV host Glenn Lee Beck reportedly has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called macular dystrophy. Beck made the announcement over the weekend. Beck said he visited his doctor a couple of weeks ago because he had difficulty focusing his eyes.

While American consumers continue to worry about jobs and paying the bills, in a recent survey from Pew research, 7 in 10 Christian households saying that they actively pay off their credit cards in full every month. Amazon has announced that the sales of books for Kindle are far ahead of those of its hardcover books. That’s somewhat of a surprise. Amazon has been widely known as a hardcover bookseller online. Several neighbors who live on West Willis St. in High Point called police on Sunday after they spotted a 3-foot-long lizard walking through their neighborhood. The residents had started to notice something was up last week when some vegetables started disappearing. And then they spotted the lizard. The neighbors who caught the lizard planned on taking the animal to a pet store so it can find a permanent home. (Fox8)

Nearly half of the 86 banks chartered in North Carolina and overseen by state regulators are considered ‘troubled institutions’…hurt by sliding real estate values, overdue loans and weak loan demand. State-chartered banks are typically community, midsize and regional banks. Bank Regulators are barred from naming troubled banks or their ratings to prevent a run on deposits that would worsen their ability to resolve problems.
