Partly sunny skies….Highs in the 90s

With temperatures back into the 90s, you need to stay hydrated if you are going to be outside in the heat!  Drink lots of water…even when you don't feel thirsty. But, limit caffeine.Wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing can also keep you cooler. And, be a good neighbor. During heat waves, be sure to check on elderly residents of your community, or those who don't have air conditioning, to make sure they are OK. www.greenwichtime.com/local/article/Tips-for-keeping-cool-1416156.php

Facebook, it turns out, isn't just a waste of time.  People who use Facebook have more close friends, get more social support and are usually more politically engaged than those who aren't on Facebook. A new report by the Pew Internet and American Life Project also found that Facebook users are more trusting than their non-networked counterparts.

At almost 100 years old, Leo Plass finally received his teaching degree from Eastern Oregon University. Back in 1932, Leo Plass was less than one semester away from graduating with a teaching degree. But during the Great Depression, a teacher’s salary was just $80 dollars a month. A friend offered him a logging job paying $150 dollars a month. So at the age of 20, Leo Plass dropped out of college. Fast forward almost 80 years, Leo Plass finally walked across the stage with his teaching diploma this past weekend.   FYI: Leo didn't expect his life to get even better. Then, he put on his cap and gown saying  "(I) never dreamed of something like this happening to me. It's out of this world." http://www.ktvz.com/news/28239246/detail.html?source=bend

Now that the state budget has been approved, North Carolina has become the third state in the nation to de-fund Planned Parenthood. The state legislature approved the measure to remove federal funds from the pro-abortion organization barring it from participating in taxpayer funded programs. So far, state legislatures in Indiana and Kansas have passed such provisions. www.lifenews.com/2011/06/15/north-carolina-becomes-third-state-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood/
