The 2005 Teen Pregnancy Statistics have been released:
Statewide, teen pregnancy rates have fallen while pregnancy rates for Forsyth County have risen. Supporters of the study say that even though pregnancy rates have fallen statewide, parents should still be reminded that teen pregnancy is still a present risk for our children.

A man has been arrested for starting two wildfires this summer and is considered a person of interest in the blaze that burned 60 square miles 90 miles east of Los Angeles last week in California. Four U.S. Forest Service firefighters died shortly after the blaze began last Thursday. A fifth firefighter died yesterday. (MSNBC)

President Bush blasting Sen. John Kerry for telling a group of college students they could either work hard in school or "get stuck in Iraq." Kerry telling reporters that his remark was a "botched joke" meant to target the president, not U.S. troops. The President saying that even in the midst of a heated mid term campaign season, there are still some things we should all be able to agree on…our troops deserve our gratitude and respect. Regular exercise could reduce the risk of an age-related eye disease.
Researchers from the University of Wisconsin followed almost 4,000 men and women over 15 years, carrying out eye tests and recording levels of exercise.
They found those with an active lifestyle were 70% less likely to develop Age related macular degeneration than couch potatoes. Age related macular degeneration is the leading cause of severe vision loss in adults over 50.
The study is published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology.


Bob Barker…Host of "The Price Is Right"…has made it official…He will retire in June. Barker said that he will be 83 years old on December 12…and I've decided to retire while I'm still young. He'll hang up his microphone after 35 years as the host of "The Price Is Right" and 50 years overall in television. (CNN)

Motorists traveling West on Business 40 will use the following signed detour:
421 North (Exit 188) to Lewisville Clemmons Road…then back to I-40 West.
