Democrats will take control of the US House of Representatives after 12 years of Republican rule. In the Senate…still too close to call: Democrats captured four of the six Republican-held seats they needed to take control of the Senate. There will likely be a re-count in the Virginia Senate race. Winning re-election…Fox, Coble, Watt and Miller…they will return to Washington.
In the 11th Congressional District, former NFL quarterback and political newcomer Heath Shuler has beaten Republican incumbent Charles Taylor. (ws journal / fox /wxii)

-Voters in Forsyth County said YES to both Bond proposals…
- A $250 million dollar bond proposal for improvements in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County school system.
-and…a $25 million dollar bond proposal for improvements for Forsyth Tech will be on the Ballot.
-Voters in Greensboro said yes to roughly half of the eleven bond proposals yesterday.

National issues…-Voters in Georgia said YES to Pro-Life License Plates.
The Choose Life specialty tags will provide funds to agencies that counsel for adoption and abortion alternatives. (CONCERNED WOMEN FOR AMERICA)

Voters in AT LEAST 5 states have responded overwhelmingly to protect marriage. Arizona rejected an amendment to ban same sex marriage.
Colorado, Arizona, Wisconsin, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Virginia.


-Voters in South Dakota have rejected an intense pro life proposal that would have banned virtually all abortions, even in cases of rape and incest.


The Supreme Court is scheduled to hearing arguments today on a federal partial-birth abortion ban. Six years ago, the High Court invoked its Roe v. Wade decision to strike down a state law against partial-birth abortion.

Dr James Dobson will not be able to serve on the ministry team that was to counsel Reverend Ted Haggard, the evangelical pastor who was fired amid allegations sexual misconduct and drug use. Dobson saying that he did not have the time to devote to such a critical responsibility. H.B. London, vice president for church and clergy at Focus on the Family defended his decision…saying that the counseling process could take years. (fAMILY.ORG)

If you have kids…ear infections are always a possibility:
Doctors say that generally ear infections are caused by bacteria…but based on new research from Finland…childhood ear infections are often caused by both viruses and bacteria – which can lead to treatment complications.
The researchers said the good news is that their findings suggest that (most) children will recover from ear infections on their own without antibiotic treatment.
The study will appear in the Dec. 15 issue of the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.
