The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, the state’s largest religious organization, is holding it’s three day meeting in Greensboro.

President Bush will meet today with a key advisory panel assessing U.S. options in Iraq. The group plans to announce its recommendations to Bush and Congress by the end of the year. White House aides have suggested a new openness to changes in Iraq, (AP CNN FOX NEWS)

The annual Veteran’s Day Parade in Winston-Salem will happen this coming Saturday at 10am. The Parade will start at the Central Library and will go down 4th Street to Main Street. (WS JOURNAL)

A Wisconsin man who changed his name to Andy Griffith to run for sheriff is being sued by Andy Griffith…the television actor.
A suit filed in federal court said the former William Harold Fenrick changed his name to Andy Griffith get more votes…now must his name back.
Fenrick changed his name to Andrew Jackson Griffith in May. He said he didn't profit from the change. Oh…Andy or Mr Fenrick lost the election for Sheriff.
Jim Cole, a lawyer for the actor, said the suit isn't personal. But if Andy Griffith doesn't protect his name under trademark law, he loses his rights.

Italian researchers have come up with a novel way for cardiac rehabilitation patients to exercise their damaged hearts without having to go to the gym…dancing. In the study… dancing proved to be just as effective as bicycle and treadmill training. The dancers also reported slightly more improvement in sleep, mood, and the ability to do hobbies.

Speaking of dancing…more than 1,000 people attending a church picnic last Sunday in Charleston, South Carolina stepped and twirled their way into the Guinness Book of World Records by way of the Electric Slide. Organizers of the Cathedral of Praise 19th annual picnic convinced 1,035 people to put down their chicken and ice tea glasses to help set the record.

College Football:
Wake Forest moving up to #14 in the AP College Football poll (with the 30-0 win over Florida State in Tallahassee on Saturday). Wake has two games left…Virginia Tech and Maryland.

Monday Night Football…tonight…Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaners

Jimmy Johnson will need to finish 12th or better at the final Nascar race this Sunday to capture the Nextel Cup. Matt Kenseth is second in the point race.
