A tsunami warning has been issued for the coastal area of Alaska. Residents in low-lying areas there should move to higher ground. The warning follows an earthquake north of Japan with a preliminary magnitude of 8.1.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning for the Pacific Coastal areas of Japan and Russia earlier this morning. -Tsunami waves, which are generated by earthquakes, are often barely noticeable in the ocean but can rise to great heights once they arrive at shore.

The Amber Alert involving a 2 year old girl from Rocky Mount had a happy ending yesterday morning. The girl was found safe in Richmond, Virginia hours after her mother told police that the child was abducted from a car at a convenience store early Tuesday morning.

The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina voted Tuesday to exclude membership to any congregations that affirm or approve of the homosexual lifestyle. Now any churches that "knowingly act to affirm, approve, endorse, promote, support or bless homosexual behavior" can't belong to the Baptist State Convention.
