The cost of sending a letter is going up. The Postal Regulatory Commission has recommended raising the price of first-class stamps (by 2 cents) from 39-cents to 41-cents. The commission also put its stamp of approval on a proposal for a "Forever Stamp” that could be used…even if rates go up after you buy them. http://www.usaradio.com/news_details.php?catid=1&storyid=1140

There was an explosion outside the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan on Tuesday during a visit by Vice President Dick Cheney. The Taliban claimed responsibility and said Cheney was the target. Film director James Cameron claims that he has found the tomb of Jesus, his mother, Mary, and Mary Magdalene. Cameron, the director of the "Titanic," claims that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a child.
A new documentary claims that 10 stone coffins, discovered in a Jerusalem suburb back in 1980, are part of the family crypt of Jesus of Nazareth.

Police are still investigating a shooting at the Red Rooster nightclub on Jonestown Road last Friday morning…that took the life of Sgt. Howard Plouff. The funeral for Sgt. Plouff will be held at 11 this morning at Holy Family Catholic Church on Kinnamon Road in Clemmons. Over flow parking will be available at Agape Faith Church and River Oaks Community Church.
- In honor of Sgt Plouff’s 17 years on the police force….Mayor Allan Joines has called for 17 days of mourning.
-Donations for the Sgt. Howard Plouff Memorial Fund can be made at area Wachovia Bank locations. They will be collected by the N.C. Chapter of the Police Benevolent Association.

The first two suspects accused of committing war crimes in Sudan's Darfur region back in 2003 and 2004 will stand trial in International Court.
An estimated 2.5 million people have been driven from their homes in Darfur since 2003. Over 200,000 people have been murdered.

Drama within the Greensboro City Council:
Florence Gatten is asking that fellow councilwoman Diane Bellamy-Small should resign. Gatten said that Small has a poor attitude, that she abuses her power as a councilwoman and is hostile toward other council members. Small has down played the allegations.

Massachusetts is leading the way for in implementing the longer school days in hopes of improving test scores in inner city schools. Lawmakers in Minnesota, New Mexico, New York and Washington, D.C., also have been debating whether to lengthen the school day or year.
