The Price of gas will stay around the $3 dollar range or higher through Christmas. Gas prices up 13 cents over the past 2 weeks.

The Winston-Salem City Council will discuss opening up more beds for the homeless at its meeting tonight. Back in February, the city council adopted a 100 bed limit for homeless shelters.

A 17 year old Central Davidson student and her boyfriend are in custody in connection with the stabbing death of Judith Maxwell…the girl’s mother. The Maxwell family lives in the Cotton Grove community near Lexington.

The death toll is close to three-thousand and could grow in the aftermath of last week’s cyclone in southern Bangladesh. The US is sending 2 Navy ships with 35-tons of food and supplies to help in the disaster.

Based on annual FBI crime stats…Detroit has been named the nation’s most dangerous city. St. Louis, Flint, Michigan, Oakland, California and Camden, N.J.round out the Top 5. Mission Viejo, California was ranked the safest.

American Music Awards: Casting Crowns taking home a statue last night. Carrie Underwood and Daughtry taking home 3 awards each.

TV lawyer Nancy Grace has been released from the hospital after complications from child birth. The 48-year-old Cable TV host delivered twins back on November 4th but wound up in the hospital herself after doctors discovered 2 blood clots in her lungs. Nancy delivered twins (a daughter and son) who arrived two months ahead of schedule and are still hospitalized.
Blood clots are a danger to any pregnant woman, but especially in middle aged women.

Nancy Grace is certainly not the only high-profile woman over 40 to have her own baby in recent years. Oscar winner Geena Davis had twin boys at age 47, and Elizabeth Edwards delivered her son Jack at age 50.
