A report from the Veterans Affairs Department saying that US veterans make up one in four of the homeless population. And the problem is not confined to middle-aged and elderly veterans. For the love of money? Chuck Grassley Senator from Iowa, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, is demanding that six nationally known ministries hand over their financial statements and records by December 6th. The ministries under investigation include: Benny Hinn, Paula White, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland, and Joyce Meyer.
Much of the information that led to the probe was gathered by Ole Anthony, who leads the Dallas-based Trinity Foundation, an organization that has monitored televangelists for years. All six ministries named in the probe claim tax status as churches. http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/11/televangelist_watchdog_provide.php
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter at Glenelg High School in Howard County (Maryland) was recently told by the school's principal that signs posted by members around campus -- for their "Operation Christmas Child" project -- needed to be changed. He allegedly forced them to cover the word "Christmas" and replace it with "Holiday." This particular "Operation Christmas Child" project collects toys for children of incarcerated parents.

More uncertainty and more chaos today in Pakistan. A nationwide protest rally is planned. The opposition leader (Benazir Bhutto) is being kept from leaving her home. All this because President Musharraf suspended the country’s constitution and enforced a state of emergency in Pakistan less than a week ago.
In Transylvania County: Searchers with the Brevard Rescue Squad said that they have narrowed down the search for a couple missing for more than two weeks. Search dogs picked up a scent on the Wednesday. Officials said that they haven't give up hope of finding John and Irene Bryant from Henderson County …but at this point (realistically) this may now be a recovery mission, not a rescue.
