Flood Watch Remains in effect until noon for Surry and Wilkes Counties

Traffic Update: Early morning accident in Archdale
(9am) Overturned tractor trailer is currently blocking most NB I-85 @ Highway 311
News 2 reporting that an early morning wreck is still causing some major delays in the Archdale area. Crews are expected to have the area cleared later this morning. Police say the truck left the road and the driver over-corrected, causing the truck to flip on its side. The driver of the truck was transported to High Point Regional Hospital with head injuries.

A resident of Onslow County who recently traveled to Texas is North Carolina's first confirmed case of H1N1 or Swine Flu. The CDC on Sunday confirming that 30 states have cases of the Swine Flu. A total of 20 countries have just under a thousand confirmed cases of Swine Flu.

Strong storms producing a possible tornado last night in western Rockingham County near the town of Mayodan. The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning last night shortly after 9pm for Rockingham and Caswell Counties.

Longtime conservative New York congressman Jack Kemp passed away on Saturday after a short battle with cancer. Kemp was 73. Before entering politics, Kemp played professional football for 13 years with the San Diego Chargers and the Buffalo Bills. FYI: Jimmy Kemp (one of Jack’s two sons) played college football at Wake Forest University becoming the team's starting quarterback during his junior year.

Severe storms rumbled across Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi over the weekend knocking out power to thousands and causing property damage. A MEMBER OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS' SCOUTING TEAM was seriously injured FOLLOWING THE COLLAPSE OF A TRAINING FACILITY OVER THE WEEKEND. The 80-foot tall structure came crashing down after high winds blew through the area on Saturday afternoon. In all, there were about 70 people inside the structure when it collapsed. The team’s 33-year old scouting assistant suffered a serious spinal cord injury which may leave him permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

The Twin City gets tough on pet waste: The city of Winston-Salem recently installed five "Scoop the Poop" stations in the downtown area. Each station has a sign printed with the city ordinance against leaving pet waste in public places. Leaving your pets' ‘waste’, in fact, against the law.
