Over the weekend, hundreds of pro-life demonstrators gathered outside the campus of Notre Dame University before President Obama’s commencement address on Sunday. 40 demonstrators were arrested. The president urged those in the audience to (quote) "work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions." The president is outspoken in his support of Pro-abortion rights and embryonic stem cell research that runs in sharp contrast to the teachings of the Catholic Church. (RnR)

Former TV anchor Tolly Carr is expected to be released from prison today, less than two years after he pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal drunken-driving wreck that claimed the life of 26 year old Casey Bokhoven on March 11, 2007. Carr will be on a five year probation after his release, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $10,000 dollar fine to the public school system.

THE FIRST SWINE-FLU RELATED FATALITY IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK HAS BEEN REPORTED. An assistant principal at one of the city's public schools passed away Sunday evening, five days after entering the hospital. The 55-year old man had a history of medical problems that may have put him at greater risk.

THE LOS ANGELES AREA WAS SHAKEN BY A MODERATE 4.7 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE YESTERDAY EVENING. There are no reports of any injuries or serious damage.

Auditions will be held in Wilmington and Savannah, Ga., for the new Miley Cyrus movie, "The Last Song." Auditions will be held in both cities, with callbacks in Savannah. Donner is the associate casting director and he'll advise those interested when and where the audition will be held. Be sure to mention "Last Song" in the e-mail.

Volunteers needed: The ‘Stamp-Out Hunger’ letter carrier food drive brought in 112,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to help feed the hungry through Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. Now, they need help sorting the food items. If you can volunteer call 784-5770

Traffic in Greensboro: City crews are replacing a water main. The two left lanes of EB Wendover Avenue from Hill Street to Cridland Road will remain closed until tomorrow at 7am.
