Heavy rain is causing severe flash flooding in southern Wilkes County this morning. Fox 8 News reporting that emergency Crews evacuated between 20 and 25 people from the Germantown Road area this morning in the Moravian Falls Community in Wilkes County. According to the National Weather Service, over 4 inches of rain has fallen over parts of Wilkes County in the past few hours. Additional rainfall is expected.

The State Supreme Court in California is expected to release its opinion on PROP 8 later today. Proposition Eight is the referendum approved by California voters last November, defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. If the State Supreme Court upholds Prop Eight then it must also determine the fate of the same-gender weddings performed before the referendum passed. www.ProtectMarriage.com

More saber rattling: North Korea fired two short range missiles earlier today…one day after the underground testing of a nuclear device and missile firing. The UN Security Council has condemned the testing.

Iran has sent six warships into international waters and the Gulf of Aden in a show of defiance following missile tests last week. The four-year-old daughter of boxing legend Mike Tyson is listed in "extremely critical condition" after she was injured in a treadmill accident at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. Exodus Tyson was found by her seven-year-old brother on a treadmill "with her neck on ... a cable" attached to the machine.

The Minnesota mom who was on the run with her 13 year old son after refusing chemo treatment has returned back home. Colleen Hauser telling CNN that she will now accept whatever course of treatment a court may order for her son. The son, Daniel Hauser, suffers from Hodgkin's lymphoma. He and his parents have said they wanted to treat his illness with alternative, Native American remedies.

Christianity Today magazine says it is ‘closing down’ four publications including Today's Christian Woman. 30 people will lose their jobs. Evangelist Billy Graham started Christianity Today magazine back in 1956.
