The FDA sending a warning letter to General Mills (the maker of Cheerios) that the company made ‘inappropriate claims’ about the cereal's ability to lower cholesterol and treat heart disease. Regulators say that only FDA-approved drugs are allowed to make such claims.
Cheerios is the best-selling cereal brand in the US…with sales of $1.4 billion dollars last year.

There are now a dozen confirmed cases of H1N1 or swine flu in North Carolina. State health officials confirmed the latest case in Rutherford County. The other confirmed cases are in three Eastern counties: Craven, Carteret and Onslow County.

The SBI is now investigating four different crime scenes…after a shootout between authorities and robbery suspects in Randolph County last night. A stand off happened after 2 suspects robbery a BP Station on 220 Business in Randleman. Deadly Go-Cart accident in Greensboro: A 42-year-old man died Tuesday night when the go-cart he was driving hit a car…head-on on Old Randleman Road in Guilford County. Dirk Hucks was pronounced dead at the scene just after 9 p.m last night.

Guilford County Schools officials hope they have resolved mold issues at Oak Ridge Elementary School after students and faculty complained for nearly four years about respiratory problems and other health concerns. Workers are removing rubber-backed carpeting from four classrooms after mold was discovered under the carpet last month. The school sent a letter to parents this week about the mold and cleanup. Some parents have pulled their children out of the school because of the problems.

NASA SAYS A TEAM OF EXPERTS IS ANALYZING DAMAGE TO SPACE SHUTTLE ATLANTIS. The crew of Atlantis discovered dings in four tiles on the starboard side of the orbiter. If the tile damage jeopardizes the safety of the crew upon their return to Earth, NASA is prepared to send a second shuttle to rescue the Atlantis crew.
