This week is National Law Enforcement Week
The Forsyth County Law Enforcement Foundation is holding its annual Memorial Service for fallen officers…tonight. The service is open to the public. It starts at 7pm at Pinedale Christian Church.

Major smoking ban affecting all restaurants and bars in North Carolina passes the General Assembly. Governor Perdue plans on signing the measure into law. The smoking ban will take effect January 2.

Northern Guilford High School has been striped of its state boys basketball championship…after school officials determined that Northern Guilford had used two ineligible players.

Officials with Arizona State University electing NOT to give President Obama an ‘Honorary Degree’ yesterday…even though the president was the commencement speaker…saying that the President “hadn't accomplished enough yet to earn an honorary degree”.
The university instead renamed a scholarship for the nation's 44th president.

POPE BENEDICT VISITING NAZARETH TODAY OFFERING HIS FULL SUPPORT FOR AN INDEPENDENT PALESTINIAN STATE. The Pope is in the midst of a weeklong tour of the Holy Land that wraps up on Friday.

SPORTS: Rusty LaRue is going back ‘home’ to Wake Forest’ as an assistant basketball coach. LaRue is currently the AD and boys basketball coach at Forsyth Country Day.

ASU Head Football Coach Jerry Moore will be inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame tonight in Raleigh.
