The U.S. Census Bureau is looking for a few good applicants just ahead of the 2010 Census to fill management positions in 10 local census offices scheduled to open this fall in North Carolina.
Pay for the census management jobs ranges from $17.00 to $33.50 per hour, depending on position and location. Winston-Salem, Asheboro and Hickory are some of the 10 cities.

FYI: Census results are used to determine the number of congressional seats for each state, the shape of legislative and local government districts, and how $300 billion in federal funds is distributed annually to communities across America.

The Milwaukee native told reporters he sees himself as a Christian who sings mainstream music rather than singing strictly Christian music. But according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Danny's first priority is to put more time and energy into the foundation he started in honor of his late wife. Sophia's Heart is designed to help disadvantaged children. Danny's wife, Sophia, passed away during heart surgery last summer.

Governor Perdue signed into law the state's first 'smoking ban' for restaurants and bars yesterday. The bill's number one supporter, Representative Hugh Holliman, D-Davidson County, is a two-time cancer survivor. Authorities nationwide are on the lookout for a mother and her 13-year-old son who have been refusing cancer treatment…that doctors say could save the boy's life. The teen, Daniel Hauser, has Hodgkin's lymphoma. The mother, Colleen Hauser and her son, Daniel, have vanished…apparently leaving their southern Minnesota home sometime after a doctor's appointment on Monday. An X-ray showed his tumor had grown. Daniel's Hodgkin's lymphoma is considered highly curable with chemotherapy and radiation, but the boy quit chemo after a single treatment. With his parents, he opted instead for "alternative medicines," citing religious beliefs.
