The founder of the American Family Association Don Wildmon has stepped down as chairman of AFA. Wildmon was hospitalized for four months with the encephalitis virus last year. Wildmon will continue to work in the AFA ministry. His son, Tim Wildmon, is expected to take over AFA. Don Wildmon began the American Family Association in 1977. BTW: Verne traveled with Don Wildmon to India back in 2005 during a Compassion International media trip.

'Miracle on the Hudson' pilot Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger made his final landing as a US Airways pilot (safely) in Charlotte on Wednesday. Sullenberger, who soared to fame after landing a damaged US Airways jetliner onto the icy Hudson River a year ago, went into early retirement yesterday. Sullenberger opted to take early retirement at 59, vowing to continue as an advocate for flight safety. Sully wants to write a second book and spend more time with his family. Two passengers aboard a cruise ship were killed on Wednesday when 3 abnormally sized waves crashed into the vessel. The incident happened in the Mediterranean Sea north of Barcelona, Spain. Fourteen others were injured. (CNN)

Aftershocks have rattled southern Taiwan after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook the island. This morning's quake was followed by more than 15 aftershocks.

A strong 5.9 magnitude aftershock caused panic in southern Chile five days after a massive earthquake killed more than 800 people. Over 800 bodies have been recovered since Saturday as the death toll continues to climb. An estimated two million people have been displaced since the earthquake. Looting and lawlessness is a real problem in areas of central and southern Chile. (VOA)

PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS OUTLINED HIS FINAL VERSION OF A HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL. The President is in full support of a controversial legislative maneuver known as ‘reconciliation’, which would allow changes to the health care bill to be passed by the Senate with only 51 votes. The President is urging Congress to bring the plan to a conclusive vote within the next few weeks.

Reagan on the 50? North Carolina congressman Patrick McHenry wants to put Ronald Reagan on the face of the $50 dollar bill. If the measure passes through Congress, Reagan would replace President Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 dollar bill.

A new national media campaign to promote the authority of the Bible hit the airwaves and internet this week. The “I Am Not Ashamed” campaign, organized by the apologetics ministry ‘Answers in Genesis’, is running commercials on Fox News, FoxNews.com and MSNBC.com. The promoting continues through April 25. The “I Am Not Ashamed” campaign features individuals from different backgrounds, nationalities, ages and cultures saying they are not ashamed of the Gospel. A print ad campaign is also running in USA Today. Local churches are also encouraged to join the campaign by sponsoring billboards in their area. The theme of the campaign “I Am Not Ashamed” is inspired by Romans 1:16…
