Close to 100 jobs coming to Randolph County. Malt-O-Meal is expanding its breakfast cereal and oatmeal manufacturing facility in Asheboro. Fox 8 news reporting that the company will create 80 jobs and invest $135 million into the area over the next three years.

Officials in Caswell County have charged the parents of 8 year old Danielle Lungsford with intentional child abuse after discovering the little girl severely undernourished back in October. Little Danielle is now clinically ‘brain dead’ and still in the hospital in Chapel Hill. (Fox8)


Helping others was the focus last night at Greensboro Urban Ministry’s 19th annual Feast of Caring. Over $89,230 dollars was raised in donations and pledges with close to 2,000 people in attendance.

100 year old Will A. Harrison has been chosen as the ‘oldest’ living Veteran from Guilford County last night during the county commissioners meeting. US vets 90 years old and older were honored last night. Harrison will represent Guilford County as one of 100 other men and women from each North Carolina county in a project honoring veterans at the new NC Veterans Park. The 14 million dollar park will be open July 4th, 2011 in Fayetteville. (Greensboro News n Record)

NFL: The Carolina Panthers will start Brian St Pierre as quarterback Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Brian St Pierre? Well, he has thrown FIVE passed over 8 seasons in the NFL. He wasn’t in any training camp this summer…and as recent as last week, Brian was a stay-at-home dad. Starting QB Matt Moore is out for the season. Back-up Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion last Sunday against Tampa Bay.
