Your WBFJ ‘Black Friday’ Forecast: Cloudy with showers (mainly this morning). Breezy…Temperatures holding in the mid to upper 50s.



Today is known as 'Black Friday'. It's the day after Thanksgiving when retailers roll out the red carpet to entice Christmas shoppers with door-buster bargains. The research firm ShopperTrac says that Black Friday is an extremely important day in the retail world…the so-called barometer to measure how the holiday shopping season will go. Last year, the Thanksgiving shopping weekend accounted for 12.3 % of overall holiday revenue. RnR


Christian psychologist Julie Slattery (with Focus on the Family) saying that 'Black Friday' should be viewed according to the attitude of our heart. Slattery believes that “We always have to be challenged with is what the attitude of our heart is. Is it 'thank you Lord? turned over to 'gimme, gimme, gimme'…or is it just something that we can say, 'Hey, this is a good way of being stewards as a family?"  RnR

THE LAUNCH OF SPACE SHUTTLE DISCOVERY HAS BEEN POSTPONED AGAIN DECEMBER 17th. NASA officials still trying to determine what has caused support beams in the shuttle fuel tank to crack. This will be Discovery’s final mission before it is retired.

Looking for something unusual to do this weekend??  How about outdoor ice skating in downtown Greensboro. The temporary ice skating rink will remain open through January 22, the day before the start of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Greensboro.
Hours: 4-9 pm Monday-Thursday, while school is in session, 4-10 pm on Friday, 11-10 pm on Saturday and 12-6 pm on Sunday. On school holidays the rink will open all day from 11-10 pm.
