The mid-term Election Day 2010…tomorrow (November 2nd )
Polls are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm on Tuesday
Check out the ‘Voter Guide’ links under the ‘Elections section’ on the WBFJ News Blog. The Judicial candidates are non-partisan (meaning there is no party affiliation listing on the ballot). FYI: This election you can participate in a first for North Carolina and the country…a statewide instant runoff election. Voters will select a first, second and third choice to fill a vacant seat on the state Court of Appeals. If no candidate gets the 50-percent plus one vote needed to win the seat, election officials will then tally up voters' second and third choices to get a winner.

BTW: Early voting numbers are up around the state. 45,000 residents in Guilford County voted early last month…almost three times more than the number of participants in the 2006 midterm elections. By Friday night, more than 22,000 people voted early in Forsyth County, which was 4 times the 2006 turnout. Early voting ended Saturday afternoon.
