Incumbents Richard Burr, Virginia Foxx, Howard Coble, Brad Miller and Mel Watt will return back to Washington. The balance of power shifted to the Republicans in the US House of Representatives. Democrats will still control the US Senate.

The Court of Appeals race with 13 candidates in which voters used instant runoff voting to rank their favorites likely won't be decided until after Thanksgiving...

The ET Commission to study UFO sightings in Denver ‘crash landed’ by voters last night. The measure to create a commission to deal with credible reports of extra-terrestrial activity in Denver has failed. Supporters of the ET Commission said it wouldn't cost taxpayers any money and would be funded through grants, gifts and donations. California voters rejected (Prop. 19) the recommendation for recreational marijuana to be legal. South Dakota and Arizona voters rejected medical marijuana measures on the ballot.

In North Carolina, history was made last night in Raleigh. Republicans now hold a majority of seats in both the state house and senate for the first time since the late 1800s.

Voters in Forsyth County voted in favor of a $40 million dollar library bond referendum that will mean new libraries in Clemmons, Kernersville and Winston-Salem, plus upgrades to branches in Forsyth County. The cost to the average homeowner in Forsyth: $12 dollars a year…

There's also a new sheriff in town in both Stokes and Wilkes counties.
Also, state voters overwhelmingly approved an amendment to the state constitution permanently barring convicted felons from running or serving as county sheriff in North Carolina.

NC Missions of Mercy will hold a FREE dental clinic for adults this Friday and Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. Registration will start at 6am both days. The clinic will be available to adults 18 years and older that fall below the poverty level. An estimated 80 dentists will be on-hand along with 200 volunteers.
