US Flag 'retirement' ceremony (Friday evening in Kernersville) BSA Troop 940 in Kernersville is hosting a 'US Flag retirement ceremony' this Friday evening at 7pm in front of the Kernersville Town Hall. The public is invited to participate (FYI: You might want to bring an athletic chair). If you have a US Flag that needs to be 'retired' please bring it by 6:30pm. (Saturday, Nov 13) The Greensboro Historical Museum will honor local veterans and dedicate the new Service and Sacrifice Gallery from 10:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, Nov. 13. Speakers will share their personal experiences in conflicts from World War II to the Gulf War. Speakers: U.S. Rep. Howard Coble, Maj. Gen. Lloyd Wilkerson, Dr. Helen Stinson, Lt. Col. Thurmon Deloney, and Jack McGinn, Jr.

(Sunday, Nov 14) The Steve Millikin Black Caps veterans group will hold a Veterans Day memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greensboro Country Park. The program will be at the veterans memorial and the public is invited. The speaker will be Col. William Harley Ford Jr. from the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. The Army color guard at Fort Bragg will also attend the service

(Monday, Nov 15, 2010) Military Appreciation Monday at Golden Corral restaurants. Free buffet meals, including beverage and dessert, to veterans and current military on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. No military ID is required.
