Nutritional educator Stuart Tomc says that a healther diet, more exercise and adding fresh fish or fish oil supplements daily can add years to your life.
According to researchers at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington in Seattle, obesity and high blood pressure stemming from poor diet and lifestyle choices have dropped life expectancy for millions of Americans throughout Appalachia, the Deep South and northern Texas.
The new study, entitled "Falling behind: life expectancy in US counties from 2000 to 2007 in an international context", surveyed life expectancy rates in over 3,000 U.S. counties and cross referenced the findings, comparing the results county-to-county and also against life expectancy rates in other nations.
"Those living in America's Southern states showed the shortest life spans compared with other parts of the nation," says health educator Stuart Tomc.
