Officials say that the weather should hold for the final 11am liftoff of space shuttle Atlantis. Atlantis will take a crew of four on a twelve day mission to deliver supplies and spare parts to the International Space Station.


Permanent???  Scientists at the University of Georgia say they have developed a spray-on solution that permanently eliminates germs even if the materials it is sprayed on undergoes numerous hot water washings. The solution was designed as a low-cost solution to the problem of germs lingering on clothes and other items.

The owner of Renn-Brook Farms in Winston-Salem farm is facing animal cruelty charges after nearly three dozen ponies were seized by law enforcement yesterday. Animal control officers said they had received several complaints about the horses' appearances.  The horses will be kept at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds until veterinarians can check all of them out and foster farm 'homes' can be found for them.

How far would you go to protect your daughter?  A Rowan County dad faces charges after he brought an unloaded rifle onto school property last Saturday.  After Jimmy Hollar dropped his daughter off at School on Saturday night he noticed some inappropriate activity from the boyfriend.  Hollar immediately went home, grabbed a rifle and drove back to the school. Police seized Hollar's unloaded gun and was charged with a misdemeanor.


TRAGIC.  A BASEBALL FAN IN THE STANDS DIED LAST NIGHT AT THE TEXAS RANGERS BASEBALL GAME AFTER FALLING OVER A RAILING WHILE TRYING TO CATCH A FOUL BALL.  Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had tossed the ball into the stands after hearing the man yell to him...to throw him the ball.  The man fell about 20 feet, landing in an area near a scoreboard.  A fan near by tried to grab the man as he fell, but could not hold on.  The man who fell was watching the game with his young son.
