Tuition for all of the state's 58 community colleges has been increased by $10 per credit hour for the fall semester, The increase means that in-state students will pay $66.50 per credit hour and out-of-state students will pay $258.50 per credit hour. The increases went into effective July 1.

The High Point Fire Department responded last night to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church after it caught on fire after lightning struck its roof. There were minor damages to the inside of the church, thankfully no one was hurt, as firefighters said they immediately responded to the call. Workers later cut out the damaged section of the roof where the lightning struck.
