A Hot start to the work week: Near record High temperatures for Central North Carolina through Wednesday. Lots of sunshine today...High 91.

One for the record books: Great weather during the Dixie Classic Fair…equals record breaking attendance. Over 371,000 people attended the Dixie Classic Fair. Job applications will accepted starting today at Gate 10 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The NC State Fair runs October 12th – 21st.

Sam's Club recalling frozen beef patties because of E. coli contamination. The frozen patties were sold under the name American Chef's Selection Angus Beef Patties.

Another beef distributor feeling the effects of a nationwide recall earlier in the month. New Jersey based Topps Meat Company has announced that it's going out of business.

The Chicago Marathon was stopped early on Sunday after one of the runners (a 35-year old man from Michigan) died during the race because of the heat. Organizers say that over 200 runners were treated for heat related problems.

A 16-year-old taking the top prize at the Rubik's Cube world championship on Sunday in Budapest, Hungary. The fastest single attempt to complete a Rubik’s Cube was a cool 10.8 seconds, just off the world record of 9.8 seconds.Andrew Kang of the United States came in second for the main event.
