Check your freezers for the latest recall: ConAgra Foods is recalling all varieties of its frozen turkey, chicken and beef ‘pot pies’ because of salmonella contamination. The pies are sold under a variety of store brands including the Banquet brand. Consumers should look for one or both of the following codes on the box: P-9 or Est. 1059. JC Penney recalling some 90,000 toys for excessive amounts of lead. The contaminated products include Winnie the Pooh play sets and miniature Jeff Gordon NASCAR helmets.

A 13-year-old boy who was injured during a football game on Wednesday later died at the hospital. Thirteen-year-old Will McLeod an eighth grader at North Lincoln Middle School. Principal Rhonda Hager said Will was an excellent student.

And the winner is: Former Vice President Al Gore has won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He will share the one-point-five-million dollar award with the UN’s Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change. Gore’s film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ draws attention to the controversial subject of man-made global warming.

California has become the third state to ban smoking in vehicles where children under 18 are present. The ban takes effect January 1st . Violators will face up to a $100 dollar fine. http://www.healthday.com/
