Update: Details regarding funeral arrangements for Maria Sue Chapman
Visitation for Maria will be today…with a Memorial service on Saturday morning at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
Maria, the youngest daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman and wife Mary Beth who was accidentally struck and killed by an SUV in the driveway of the family’s home near Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon.
The Chapman family is requesting that gifts be directed to Shaohannah’s Hope.

Burma’s military leaders have agreed to "allow all aid workers" into the country to help storm survivors. Aid groups have criticized the country for not accepting help after the cyclone hit three weeks ago. An estimated 130,000 people have lost their lives with 2 million left homeless.

A Federal Appeals Court in Richmond has once again declared Virginia’s Partial Birth Abortion Law Unconstitutional. Virginia’s Partial Birth Abortion ban was approved by voters 5 years ago, but the appeals court has never allowed it to take effect.

Hundreds of children taken from a Polygamist Sect in west Texas could be reunited with their parents soon. An appeals court in Austin ruling that Texas state workers improperly removed 440 children after an allegation of child abuse.

If all goes well, NASA’s Phoenix Lander spacecraft will touch down on Mars sometime Sunday night. The probe’s mission is to search for signs of water and other evidence that life might have once existed on Mars.

Ford Motor Company is cutting production of its pickups and SUV’s. The company saying that car buyers are wanting more fuel-efficient vehicles as gasoline prices continue to rise.

Hold the tartar sause: A BRITISH COUPLE HAS EMBARKED ON A JOURNEY AROUND AUSTRALIA IN A CAR POWERED BY LEFTOVER VEGETABLE OIL FROM FISH AND CHIP RESTAURANTS. They plan to drive 18 thousand miles in a specially designed four-wheel drive. One of the car's two fuel tanks holds discarded fish and chip oil donated by restaurants. The other is for diesel, which is used only in small amounts.

The DOT will suspend most road construction along interstates and highways during the Memorial Day Weekend starting Friday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Work zone penalties still apply, even though workers aren't there. The penalty for speeding through a work zone is $250 dollars.
