New this morning: Parking deck collapses near South Park
A parking deck collapsed at the office complex SouthPark Towers in Charlotte this morning. Eyewitness reports say that one whole section collapsed straight down onto the deck below. So far, no injuries have been reported. (9:15am) http://www.wcnc.com/

The death toll is close to 12,000 after a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked central China yesterday morning. The Chinese state media says more than 18,000 people are buried in one earthquake-hit city. There have been many aftershocks during the past 24 hours. (CNN, FOX news channel)
