Moving on toward November. Heavy voter turnout yesterday for the North Carolina Primary:
-Barack Obama winning big over Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race for president. Clinton edging out Obama in Indiana. Obama needs only 187 delegates to wrap up the Democratic nomination. Only 217 Democratic delegates are left with 6 state primaries to go.
-Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory and Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue will battle it out for Governor this Fall.
-Voters in Guilford County saying YES to school bonds…but rejecting a sales tax increase.

THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY IS OFFERING AID TO MILITARY-RULED BURMA (Myanmar). The death toll is estimated at around 22,000. The United Nations says U.N. staffers who were already in Burma are distributing supplies. The government is not granting any visas for additional workers to come in and help.

Dozens of San Diego State University students were arrested and six fraternities were suspended after a sweeping drug investigation found that some fraternity members openly dealt drugs including cocaine. A Georgia inmate on death row was executed last night…the first inmate put to death since the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of lethal injections. William Earl Lynd was pronounced dead Tuesday at 7:51pm… less than an hour after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected efforts to block it.
