TRAFFIC ALERT: 9am Overturned tractor trailer I-40 EB at 52. Major traffic delays at last check.

Another record high: AAA saying that the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.75. In some cities (including Chicago) regular unleaded has passed $4 dollars a gallon.

Neighborhoods in Davie and Forsyth Counties devastated by a tornado last week will get a helping hand from the state. DOT crews will begin picking up trees and tree limbs today through early next week.

Survivors in Burma (Myanmar) are bracing themselves for another possible storm. Another cyclone is expected to form in the next 24 hours and sweep across Burma’s most devastated area. Over a million survivors of the May 3rd cyclone are still homeless. (CNN)

RESCUE OPERATIONS CONTINUE IN SOUTHWESTERN CHINA. RELIEF SUPPLIES ARE TRICKLING INTO THE HARDEST HIT AREA. The 7.9 magnitude quake has claimed at least 20 thousand lives.

A relief team from Samaritan’s Purse (including Franklin Graham) were in Beijing, China and felt the 7.9 quake that hit 900 miles away on Monday. The team was trying to coordinate relief efforts in Burma when the quake happened. Samaritan’s Purse has committed $150,000 dollars to help in rescue efforts. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/

Clinton winning big over Obama in the West Virginia Primary. The win won't do much to cut into Senator Obama's delegate lead. Primaries in Kentucky and Oregon next Tuesday (May 20).

This week is National Bike to Work Week: The goal of the week is to get Americans out of their cars and to promote exercise and clean air. According to the EPA, driving a car is the single most polluting thing most Americans do.

The WBFJ West Yadkin Yankees played the Jonesville Blue Jays last night.
The game was tied 3-3 until the bottom of the 4th inning when the Blue Jays broke the game open with four runs and went on to defeat the WY Yankees 9-4. In a losing effort, Dylan Mathis led the Yankees with a double and a triple. He also scored a run. Also contributing was Joshua Christy with a double; he also scored two of the four runs. Patrick Usher also scored a run.
The West Yadkin Yankees will play the Yadkinville Orioles this Friday.
