THE GOVERNMENT HAS RELEASED FINAL 2006 FIGURES FOR TEEN BIRTH RATES IN THE US. The report from the CDC finding that Mississippi had a teen birth rate that was more than 60% higher than the national average. Other states with teen birth rates that significantly exceed the national average include Arizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Texas.
