Mortgage rates fall below 5% in U.S. and N.C...The average interest rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage fell below 5% last week, prompting many homeowners to investigate refinancing options, according to http://www.zillow.com/. With an artic cold front approaching the Triad by the end of the week, two more churches in Greensboro have opened temporary emergency shelters this week to help the homeless. All part of the new Winter Emergency ( or WE) shelter program through Greensboro Urban Ministry that was established to help shelter 60 to 100 more homeless people this winter.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Alamance Church Road opened its shelter Monday night and West Market Street United Methodist Church will open on Thursday.
