A ‘Freeze Watch’ has been posted for the Triad for Saturday Morning

Updated: Deadly shooting at Fort Hood (Army base) in Texas yesterday. 12 soldiers were killed, 31 people wounded. The alleged gunman Major Nidal Malik Hasan is on a ventilator and unconscious in a hospital after being shot four times during the shootings. Husan is accused of attacking fellow soldiers yesterday afternoon at the Soldier Readiness Processing Center, as they waited to see doctors to prepare for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. A PRIEST AND ELEVEN OTHER PRO-LIFE DEMONSTRATORS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED OUTSIDE THE OFFICE OF HOUSE SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI. Demonstrators tore up copies of the Health Care Reform Bill and chanted "We will not pay for murder", and "Kill the bill". A vote on the current Healthcare reform bill in the House is expected on Saturday.

HURRICANE IDA HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO A TROPICAL STORM. The storm has stained winds of 35-miles per hour. Ida has already dumped about 20-inches of rain on Nicaragua. The storm is expected to re-enter the Caribbean this weekend.

YANKEES MANAGER JOE GIRARDI CAPPED OFF HIS WORLD SERIES WIN BY HELPING THE VICTIM OF A CAR ACCIDENT ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE BALLPARK. Girardi stopped at the side of the road to help the woman whose car was partially blocking the roadway on a curve. The woman had only cuts and bruises. The police officer responding to the incident says seeing the Yankees manager there was totally surreal.
