RECALL: Fairbank Farms of Ashville, New York has recalled over a half million pounds of fresh ground beef that had been distributed in September to stores from North Carolina to Maine. The ground beef recall from Fairbank Farms is isolated to 93/7 ground beef purchased at Food Lion stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia with the sell by date of Sept. 21 through Oct. 8. Customers should return the meat to the store for a full refund.

Employees of Moses Cone Health Systems who haven't gotten the seasonal flu vaccine -- or a waiver for health or religious reasons -- will likely be out of a job next week. The deadline for all employees was the end of October. Those identified will likely be asked to resign over the next couple of days. Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center also required its employees to get both the seasonal and H1N1 vaccines.

While House leaders are moving toward a vote on health care legislation by the end of the week, enough Democrats are threatening to oppose the measure over the issue of abortion…creating a question about its passage. They are concerned that abortion provisions in the bill could lead to public funding of the procedure. The outcome of those talks could be crucial in deciding the fate of the $894 billion health care bill.

THE DIRECTOR OF THE PLANNED PARENTHOOD ABORTION CENTER IN BRYON, TEXAS HAS RESIGNED. The Director (Abby Johnson) worked at the clinic for eight years. But walked away following a change of heart about the financial impact of abortion. Planned Parenthood has gone to court to seek a restraining order against Johnson and the Coalition for Life.
